Welcome to ESC/WOSC 2022 in Mannheim/Ludwigshafen!

The ESC/WOSC, the European Shogi Championship and World Open Shogi Championship the most important shogi event of the year in Europe, will take place fromĀ 28th to 31st of July 2022 in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

We are happy to announce that also three professional players will attend the event:

New hotel arrangement and 9-Euro-Ticket

Now a special offer for overnight stay at the new venue is available. Also useful information about the "9-Euro-Ticket" and about public transportation in the Mannheim-Ludwigshafen area was added. More details on the Venue page.

New venue is Heinrich-Pesch-Hotel in Ludwigshafen

Due to organizational issus we had to change the venue within the area to Ludwigshafen. The new venue will be the Heinrich Pesch Hotel. For more information check out the Venue page.

COVID-19 entry restrictions provisionally lifted

June 22nd 2022
All COVID-19 entry restrictions to Germany will be provisionally lifted. From this date, entries to Germany will again be permitted for all travel purposes, including tourism and visiting trips (except for persons residing in the People's Republic of China). For entry into Germany, proof of vaccination or testing is no longer required. For further information please check the Federal Foreign Offices' website.

Travel restrictions for some travellers lifted

No pandemic-related travel restrictions currently apply to travellers entering Germany from member states of the European Union or from Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Iceland and selected other states.
Visitors from other states currently have to be fully vaccinated. The traveller must have received the last vaccination dose that is necessary for full vaccination at least 14 days before the date of travel. Accepted vaccines are Corminaty (BioNTech/Pfizer), Spikevax(Moderna), Jannssen, Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) and Nuvaxovid (Novavax).

Today the website for the ESC / WOSC 2022 in Mannheim officially goes online. We are looking forward to the event. The website already contains all important information and also a registration option is implemented. Registration is only possible via the webform. Do you have questions?
